# Projects

As the name would suggest projects are entities that create carbon credit batches. They can't interact with other entities nor can they make a profit. Only project owners can indirectly use them in order to propose carbon credit batches (i.e. a carbon credit batch can't be created without a corresponding project). It is also worth mentioning that a project can have several carbon credit batches under it.\
Projects are subjugated to penalizations and their penalty level impacts the actions of the project owner when he/she is using the project in order to do somethings (i.e. propose a new carbon credit batch).
